Nasira and camel Caramel, a belly dance parade you do not want to miss as Nasira will perform several middle eastern dances with her lifetime traveler, Caramel.
"NASIRA is an elegant, joyful, and family-friendly oriental (aka belly) dancer from Northeastern CT. She has performed for restaurants, festivals, and benefits throughout the Northeast as a soloist and as a troupe member. Her performances are known for their grace, personality, and technical skill".
Grasshopper Arts offers Latin dance programs, hosts monthly social dances and provides puppetry and stiltwalking performances. At the beginning of 1994 Grasshopper Arts was formed in Bogota, Colombia as an independent company called "Teatro de titeres Saltamontes" (Grasshopper puppet theater). GHADS moved to the United Sates in 1998 according with the studies in the unique puppetry arts program at the University of Connecticut.
In 1999 Oswaldo Tirano was hired by Arts in Motion dance studio as a Latin dance instructor, a cultural skill he learned as part of his cultural heritage. He has studied theater, puppetry, dance, and voice at the National University of Colombia (1989 - 1994) and national school of dramatic arts (1996 - 1998) in Bogota, Colombia.
This is his fifteenth year teaching Latin dance and puppetry for all ages in several dance studios, colleges, public schools, and community centers throughout Connecticut.
